Ayandegan University on the Path to Becoming Iran’s National Artificial Intelligence Hub

Iran’s first academic Artificial Intelligence Organization has been inaugurated at Ayandegan University. The event, attended by faculty members, administrators, researchers, and students, marks a strategic step toward advancing emerging technologies and realizing intelligent governance in Iran.
During the ceremony, Dr. Seyed Esmaeil Najafi, President of Ayandegan University, emphasized the pivotal role of universities in shaping the nation’s technological future, stating:
“Ayandegan is not merely a university—it is a vision for the future. The establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Organization embodies our belief in the role of universities as the architects of the country’s digital future—one in which science and technology serve sustainable development and intelligent wisdom.”
Dr. Seyed Ahmad Edalatpanah, Vice President for Research and Technology and Head of the university’s Artificial Intelligence Organization, described the foundation of the organization as a mission that transcends academic boundaries, noting:
“Our goal is to build the national hub for artificial intelligence in Iran—a platform for synergy between research, innovation, and industry. The Ayandegan AI Organization will nurture future-shaping ideas, train the next generation of researchers, and strengthen the link between science, industry, and society.”
He further added:
“Within this organization, advanced research will be developed in areas such as deep learning, computational cognitive science, intelligent decision-making, smart cities, and data-driven governance. This initiative marks the beginning of a new era, positioning Ayandegan University as a center for AI thought and innovation in Iran.”
On the sidelines of the ceremony, several selected AI research projects designed and implemented by the university’s faculty and students were also introduced.
With the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Organization, Ayandegan University has officially embarked on the path to becoming a national reference center for research, education, and development in intelligent technologies—a step poised to transform the future of higher education and industry in Iran.
